OverView

The 2013 KIAPS International Symposium on Global NWP System Modeling was held from Oct. 28 to 30. The symposium provided an opportunity for exchanging the latest knowledge and experience with special focus on global NWP system modeling. The participants discussed future collaborations to further advance the NWP modeling field and the directions and guidelines for the development activities were suggested. KIAPS is an institution newly established in April 2011 and financially supported by Korean Government. The main goal of KIAPS is to develop a next generation NWP model which eventually will be used by Korea Meteorological Administration for operational purpose. The Symposium is a part of broader efforts of KIAPS to develop and strengthen the cooperative relationships with other NWP centers around the world.
